Driven to create unique home-grown food concepts that bring people together, the Independent Food Company is a UAE-based hospitality company with multiple concepts under its umbrella – SALT, Parker’s, Somewhere, Shalwa, Kumo and Public.

We are looking for an OS&E Specialist who ensures the supply for the packaging categories assigned to him/her, namely flexible packaging, flat cardboard, or corrugated cardboard. He/she also ensures the availability of goods in factories by managing supplier relations, contracts, and purchase orders. The Packaging Buyer participates in the search for new suppliers and continually aims to optimize the purchasing process to ensure top-quality service from our suppliers. Continuous improvement is part of his/her daily life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Timely closure on key initiatives such as sourcing events, contract renegotiations, projects, and pilots.
• Communication and integration of activity with internal partners to ensure that expectations are fully met for initiative goals and schedules.
• Become recognized as a subject matter authority across all assigned categories.
• Utilize creative thinking and research skills to identify and develop global sources of supply, including distribution networks, global manufacturers, and in-country sourcing.
• Handle supplier relationships resourcefully and dedicatedly to result in a win for the supplier, HSM, and the hotel.
• Be a self-starter with the ability to effectively and creatively problem-solve and identify solutions while maintaining flexibility, professionalism, and integrity.
• Use discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
