The Specialist - Information Technology (Oracle EBS OAF Function) is responsible for developing, customizing, maintaining, and supporting Oracle E-Business Suite applications using Oracle Application Framework (OAF). The role provides hands‑on technical support in developing and enhancing Oracle EBS solutions, including OAF pages, JSP components, and RICEW objects.
Working under the guidance of senior IT team members and in collaboration with functional consultants and business stakeholders, the incumbent translates approved business and functional requirements into reliable technical solutions. The role supports application performance, system stability, data integrity, and compliance with Oracle development standards and internal IT governance.
This is an individual‑contributor position with no direct people‑management responsibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Oracle EBS OAF Development and Customization – 35%
- Develop, customize, test, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite applications using Oracle Application Framework.
- Develop and support OAF pages, JSP components, controllers, application modules, view objects, and related user‑interface extensions.
- Develop and maintain RICEW components, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, and Workflows.
- Implement approved OAF personalizations and extensions without compromising standard Oracle functionality.
- Apply Oracle EBS architecture, coding standards, development practices, version‑control requirements, and internal IT governance.
- Conduct code reviews and implement required improvements under the guidance of senior IT team members.
Technical Analysis and Solution Design – 20%
- Work with functional consultants and business stakeholders to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform technical analysis and contribute to the design of OAF applications, enhancements, extensions, and integrations.
- Prepare technical design documents and specifications aligned with approved functional requirements.
- Assess the technical impact of proposed changes and identify relevant dependencies, constraints, and risks.
- Recommend practical technical solutions within established architecture, performance, security, and maintainability standards.
- Participate in technical discussions and solution reviews for assigned development requirements.
Application Support, Troubleshooting and Root‑Cause Analysis – 20%
- Provide technical support for Oracle EBS OAF‑related incidents, service requests, and system issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Investigate and resolve issues involving OAF, JSP, Java, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, web services, and related application components.
- Perform root‑cause analysis for recurring or moderately complex system defects and performance issues.
- Implement corrective actions within the assigned scope and escalate highly complex or critical issues when required.
- Monitor assigned incidents and service requests to support resolution within established service‑level requirements.
- Coordinate with functional consultants, infrastructure teams, vendors, and other technical resources to resolve application issues.
Performance Tuning and System Optimization – 15%
- Monitor and optimize the performance of assigned OAF components, application code, database queries, and integrations.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Optimize SQL queries, PL/SQL code, Java components, OAF pages, and related application objects.
- Support Oracle EBS upgrades, patches, migrations, and system‑enhancement activities.
- Conduct post‑implementation checks to confirm application functionality, stability, and performance.
- Escalate significant application performance, capacity, or reliability risks to senior IT team members.
Documentation, Testing and Collaboration – 10%
- Prepare and maintain technical specifications, code documentation, test scripts, deployment instructions, and technical user guides.
- Perform unit and system testing and document results to ensure that technical solutions meet approved requirements.
- Support functional consultants and business users during integration testing and User Acceptance Testing.
- Assist with the controlled deployment and migration of approved developments across Oracle EBS environments.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams, functional consultants, business stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver assigned solutions.
- Provide timely updates on the progress, risks, dependencies, and completion of assigned technical activities.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
Minimum Qualifications: (Education/Certification/Licensure/Professional Membership)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Oracle E-Business Suite technical certification is an advantage.
- Relevant certification in Java, Oracle databases, application development, or integration technologies is an added advantage.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 5‑7 years of relevant experience in Oracle E‑Business Suite technical development and application support.
- At least 3 years of hands‑on experience developing and supporting solutions using Oracle Application Framework.
- Hands‑on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, JSP, XML, web services, and related Oracle EBS technologies.
- Experience developing or supporting RICEW components within Oracle EBS.
- Working knowledge of Oracle EBS modules such as Inventory, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Projects.
- Knowledge of the Complex Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (CMRO) module is an added advantage.
- Experience in an aviation or MRO environment is desirable.
