Job summary

Lime in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a on-site Field Support & Mechanics contractor to deploy and retrieve electric vehicles, perform safety checks, and assist customers in the field. You will operate vans, interact with the community, and maintain high safety standards.

The role requires driving large vans, lifting up to 65 lbs, and working outdoors; experience with pallets/jacks is a plus. This is a contracted, third-party employment arrangement with Lime handling payroll and benefits.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age with a valid driver license and good driving record.
• Experience in a similar position with knowledge of the local geography.
• Ability to drive large vans and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 65lbs / 35 kg on a frequent basis.
• Knowledge of cell phone applications; iOS experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Experience safely operating a pallet jack or push cart.
• Strong problem solving, quick and efficient repairs.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage daily tasks.
• Safety-oriented mindset with rigorous quality checks.
• Excellent communication with team members, riders, and city officials.
• Waiver acknowledgment for Dash Cam in vehicles is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a van for several hours a day to assist with deployment and retrieval of Lime electric vehicles within the local market.
• Interact with the local community to retrieve vehicles while assessing risk to safety and de-escalation as needed.
• Address and resolve issues with city requests related to stickers, reflectors, and other minor items per SLAs.
• Maintain communication with team including peers, shift lead, and manager.
• Participate in Lime events including valet support, staging, and safety reviews; ensure vehicle cleanliness.
• Support battery management operations with documentation, safety measures, and quality checks.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles including brake adjustments and tire inflation; assist with scooter rotation and warehouse flow.
• Monitor zones via on-foot patrols to ensure parking compliance and tidiness per city requests.
• Detect and report on-ground service and product issues; assist customers in field when needed.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure riders ride on the safest vehicles.
• May operate a pallet jack or push cart as needed.
• Additional job-related tasks as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate a van for several hours a day to assist with the deployment and retrieval of Lime electric vehicles within the local market
• Interact with the local community to retrieve vehicles critically assessing risk to not compromise safety and occasionally using de escalation skills
• Address and resolve issues with city requests related to stickers, reflectors, and other minor issues as outlined by Lime established service level agreements
• Maintain communication with the team including peers, shift lead, and manager
• Participate in Lime events including providing support with valet services, assisting in staging and conducting safety reviews while ensuring the cleanliness of our vehicles
• Support battery management operations when applicable by ensuring accurate documentation, safety measures, and quality checks are completed
• Perform preventative maintenance on our vehicles by identifying and completing small repairs including but not limited to brake adjustments and tire inflation, and assisting with the rotation of scooters and supporting in warehouse flow
• Monitor designated zones by conducting on-foot patrols of the local area to ensure vehicle parking compliance and tidiness in accordance with city requests
• Detect and report uncommon situations related to on the ground service and product
• Occasionally assist customers in field by providing support related to Lime vehicles
• Follow established safety procedures to ensure Lime riders are on the safest vehicles
• May operate a pallet jack or push cart on an as needed basis
• Additional job related tasks as assigned

About You

• Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver license and good driving record
