Operations Manager - Facade

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
2. Participate in the pre-contract assessment of project particulars with the Sales and Estimation Department (for commercial projects) and identify potential risks, review site access requirements, required method statements for installation, and budgeted MH for installation.
3. Proactively monitor project schedules, report on progress, and implement strategies to improve activity efficiency, enhance productivity, and prevent delays.
4. Maintain strict budget compliance by reviewing expenditures, identifying variances, and optimizing costs as necessary.
5. Ensure project specifications and quality standards are met by coordinating with design teams, site supervisors, and quality assurance personnel.
6. Guide project managers in resolving on-site challenges, including unexpected changes in project scope, resource allocation conflicts, and technical issues.
7. Conduct regular reviews of project documentation, such as progress reports and quality control records, to maintain accountability.
8. Monitor and maintain a positive cash flow throughout project execution.
9. Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance project delivery (in relation to time and cost).
10. Monitor resource allocation, ensuring optimal utilization of labor, materials, and equipment.
11. Supervise installation teams, including project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
12. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration across all teams.
13. Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations for team members to enhance their capabilities.
14. Collaborate with Cost Control/QS and procurement teams to manage budgets and control costs.
15. Track actual expenditures against budgeted amounts and identify variances.
16. Implement corrective measures to address overruns and inefficiencies.
17. Lead the Planning Department to develop comprehensive project timelines, work breakdown structures, and milestones for each project.
18. Ensure accurate forecasting of project durations by analyzing resource availability and productivity rates.
19. Coordinate closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources necessary for maintaining schedules.
20. Plan for short-term activities for every project (bi-weekly forecast) and follow up with the project managers and the respective teams for compliance.
21. Ensure alignment between planning efforts and contractual deadlines, optimizing schedules for operational efficiency.
22. Collaborate with the Contracts Department to address any discrepancies or ambiguities in contract interpretation.
23. Provide feedback on operational feasibility and constraints to ensure contract terms are realistic and achievable.
24. Coordinate with the Contracts Department when changes to the project scope, timelines, or budget arise, ensuring proper documentation and approval of variations.
25. Identify potential risks related to project execution and communicate them to the Contracts Department for mitigation strategies.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
2. Proven experience in the Façade Industry or a similar role in the Contracting field.
3. Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and regulations.
4. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
5. Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
6. Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
7. Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
