We are looking for:
This is a full-time on-site role for a strong General Manager. The role requires an extensive and inspired leadership to manage day to day operational procedures of Outset's venues including Terra Eatery Dubai, Terra Eatery Al Qana, Neighbours Cafe, Boston Lane, Oppidan and CMPLX including staff management, customer service, financial management, and strategic planning. The role will involve ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the business and maintaining high standards of quality and service. As part of this role's responsibilities, the frequent visit and oversight to the above-mentioned locations based in Abu Dhabi, is required on a weekly basis. (Number of the visits will be calculated depending on the needs).
Job Responsibilities:
- Involved in progress and floor operation, with providing financial control and ensuring service quality (H&S, service standards and colleague's performance)
- Work in the operation during busy days, special events and holidays closely with floor management.
- Provide inspired leadership for the organization.
- Must provide an environment of openness and trust, with constant feedback and performance coaching.
- Implement and review operational policies and procedures. Develop SOP and training material for each project, maintain and sustain training calendar.
- Assist HR for the recruitment process, when necessary, supervise and assign, and allocate trainings as per demand.
- Conduct performance appraisals, take disciplinary action, motivate, and train.
- Controlling P&L, maintaining inventory, reviewing financial reports.
- Work with senior management to ensure clear communication and plan for short and long-term goals.
- Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
- Create a unique quality control process for individual brands output, set and monitor production KPIs.
- Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency.
- Manage day-to-day business of the operations department while balancing the responsibilities of various business lines such as business analysis, vendor, and risk management.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant Hygiene and Safety legislation and requirements.
- Ensure that the industry standard about safety and hygiene.
- The Operations Manager will also be the department representative for Special Events, working each special event as the departmental duty manager.
- This will involve all planning associated with each event, right through to delivery.
- Responsible for all trade press subscriptions and ensuring relevant information is passed on to the Restaurant Managers and Assistant Managers
- Responsible to liaise with the Sales and Marketing team to collate and respond to all customer correspondence, ensuring this is communicated to the entire Food and Beverage team, where appropriate.
- Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
- Report on project progress, as well as weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics.
Requirements of the role:
- 5+ years of experience in a management and operations in the hospitality industry
- Bachelor's degree in operations management or related field preferred.
- Understanding of general finance, budgeting, and forecasting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management.
- Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, suppliers, partners, and employees.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task while adhering to deadlines.
