Team: Operations – Could be in First Mile (Fulfillment), Middle Mile (Sortation), or Final Mile (Delivery)
This is a hands-on shift leadership role, overseeing operations and driving performance and safety. Think of it as a front-line operational leadership position in one of Amazon’s logistics hubs.
- Ensure a safe work environment by identifying and mitigating risks.
- Communicate safety expectations and monitor adherence.
- Team Supervision
- Directly supervise and train Associates (warehouse, logistics, delivery staff).
- Monitor performance, support development, and foster engagement.
- Operations Execution
- Manage daily shift tasks: inventory flow, processing targets, and fulfillment.
- Adjust labor and resource allocation in real-time based on operational needs.
- Cross-functional Communication
- Interface with other teams like maintenance, IT, safety, training, and HR.
- Ensure seamless handovers and execution between shifts and functions.
- Problem Solving & Process Improvement
- Use data and insights to identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Implement Lean / 5S / Kaizen-style improvements on the floor.
Basic Qualifications
Amazon is looking for candidates with:
- Experience managing medium to large teams (e.g., shift supervisor, warehouse team lead, or logistics coordinator)
- Experience using data to make decisions, analyze trends, and improve operations
Preferred Qualifications (Amazon Looks for):
- Experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Strong problem-solving skills with a “think on your feet” mentality
- A team-oriented, engaging and supportive leadership style
- Experience with process optimization, 5S or Six Sigma is a plus
- Familiarity with performance metrics, KPIs, dashboards
