Qualifications

• Proven experience in a compliance or operational role, preferably in fintech.
• Strong knowledge of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) framework.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage operational risks.

Your Mission

As an Operations Lead at Bitpanda MENA DMCC, your mission is to support the Managing Director in delivering and maintaining a strong, effective and compliant operational framework aligned with the requirements of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) in Dubai. You will play a key role in the go-live strategy of the Bitpanda brand in the UAE specific to the UAE regulatory landscape, while contributing to Bitpanda’s commitment to integrity, transparency, and responsible innovation in the virtual asset space.

By proactively overseeing operations, you will help ensure we remain fully compliant, risk-aware, and primed for sustainable growth.

What You'll Do

• Operational readiness Support the creation and maintenance of operational buildout of the regional Bitpanda app in accordance with VARA regulations prior to and post roll out in the country.
• Standard Operation Protocols and Service Level Agreements Create and maintain SOPs and SLAs between local and group entities while setting up efficient workflow optimizations for faster resolution of issues.
• Regulatory Compliance and Audit Support the audit firms and regulatory reporting while working closely with the compliance teams to resolve urgent regulatory issues.
• Operational risk and crisis management Oversee operational risk incidents while establishing robust fraud prevention measures and security protocols for funds and user accounts.
• Scaling and ExpansionWork with banks and other key financial services partners to establish market readiness while overseeing regulatory and operational expansion requirements.

Who You Are

• Proactive & Operationally Hands-On You can lead and support day-to-day operations and take ownership of tasks that ensure ongoing regulatory readiness.
• Strong Regulatory Knowledge You understand the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) framework and evolving international AML standards applicable to virtual assets locally and regionally.
• Analytical & Precise You’re detail-oriented, able to analyze complex transactions, identify emerging risks, and ensure full regulatory coverage.
• Effective Communicator You engage confidently with internal stakeholders, auditors, and regulators, and can clearly articulate compliance requirements and risk-based decisions.
