Operations & Finance Analyst

(Iraq Mega Projects Consultancy Programme)

LOCATION

Dubai, UAE

The role will be primarily office-based with flexibility for remote working. Travel to Iraq on a visiting basis may be required.

THE ROLE

We are currently looking to hire an Operations & Finance Analyst with 8-10 years of experience to work on a major transformation and restructuring programme in the Manufacturing and FMCG sector.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Finance Lead to review and analyze public and private company accounts and financial records to support data analysis, benchmarking of financial norms, and financial modelling. The candidate will also support the Project Lead in business process analysis and design optimization, providing a basis for creating operational excellence.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze company accounts and financial data to support the Finance Lead in identifying gaps in the current financial systems and records.
  • Conduct benchmarking exercises of regional and international financial practices.
  • Support the production of gap analysis reports as a basis for informed decision-making for the client.
  • Support the Finance Lead in defining the finance operating model.
  • Conduct process analysis of the financial systems in place, recommend process improvements, and develop redefined finance processes that align with the new Target Operating Model (TOM).
  • Create and/or redesign business processes as required, supporting the Project Lead in the development of the new TOM.
  • Prepare and facilitate workshops run by the Project Lead.
  • Update weekly, fortnightly, and monthly project data as required by the Project Lead.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or finance, with a professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/ACA) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing financial statements.
  • Proven experience of 5-8 years in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, cash forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Experience in process improvements and reengineering business processes (preferably for public entities).
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in the Middle East.
  • Experience with SAP systems.
  • Excellent MS Word and PowerPoint skills.
