Key responsibilities include developing risk management policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with UAE regulations. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Professional certifications and experience in multicultural teams are preferred.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk GRC Lead to join our team in the United Arab Emirates. In this role you will oversee the enterprise operational risk framework, drive governance, risk, and compliance initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure robust risk assessment, mitigation, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the operational risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
• Lead governance, risk, and compliance GRC programs to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and identify key operational risk exposures.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor remediation plans.
• Oversee internal audit activities, review findings, and ensure timely closure of risk issues.
• Prepare and present risk reports to senior management and the board.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies and ensure ongoing compliance with UAE Central Bank and other relevant regulations.
• Provide training and guidance to business units on risk management and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 8-12 years of progressive experience in operational risk management, GRC, or internal audit.
• Deep technical expertise in operational risk management frameworks and methodologies.
• Proven experience in governance, risk, and compliance GRC program implementation.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, mitigation techniques, and regulatory compliance in the UAE.
• Hands‑on experience with internal audit processes and control testing.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
• Experience implementing risk management software or GRC platforms.
• Familiarity with Shariah governance and compliance frameworks.
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master's in Risk Management, or related discipline).
• Experience working with multicultural teams in a regional or global banking environment.
