As an Operational Accountant, your role will focus on providing comprehensive support for regional operations within a fast-paced and high volume finance environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes across various functions, including cash management, fixed assets, compliance, and month end reporting. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will contribute to the smooth financial operation of the organization and drive continuous process improvements.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage daily cash transactions and ensure accurate recording within banking systems and ERP platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer records and ensure all financial activities are logged in real time.
  • Conduct compliance checks and gather documentation prior to payment approvals.
  • Upload payments to online banking platforms and support banking operations.
  • Review and process invoices, ensuring proper expense recognition in the ERP system.
  • Support the preparation of sales invoices and ensure accurate revenue recording.
  • Assist with the general ledger, cost allocation, monthly accruals, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, following up on resolutions.
  • Deliver internal management reports on request and support financial audits or reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation within finance workflows.
  • Provide back-up support for team members and contribute to ad-hoc finance projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • 1 3 years of experience in finance or accounting within a fast-paced, high volume environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAGE preferred) and procurement software.
  • Familiarity with UAE VAT regulations is advantageous.

Knowledge:

  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Understanding of expense recognition, reconciliations, and reporting processes.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare and present reports clearly.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Proactive and results-driven with a commitment to continuous improvement.
