Job summary

Saipem in the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, seeks an experienced offshore operations specialist to provide technical reviews and support across tender, engineering and execution phases. You will advise on best practices, equipment readiness and HSE alignment, coordinating with project operations and asset teams.

Required 3–5 years in offshore campaigns and familiarity with rigid pipelaying, with English fluency. The role offers a fixed-term contract and a 48-hour work week in Abu Dhabi.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in offshore operations or marine equipment management.
• Experience with rigid pipelaying systems (S-Lay/J-Lay) is preferred.
• Field experience in offshore campaigns.
• Fluent English; Italian or French are assets.

Job Role

• Provide technical reviews and operational input for methods, procedures, and installation plans throughout tender, engineering, and execution phases.


• Support offshore and onshore teams by advising on best practices, operational constraints, and equipment readiness.


• Monitor work progress, ensuring alignment with HSE requirements.


• Liaise with Project Operations, Offshore Construction Managers, Asset teams.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Naval, Offshore Engineering, or equivalent.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of offshore construction methods and mission equipment operation related to rigid pipelaying (S-Lay, J-Lay), cable and flexible laying, heavy lifting.


• Knowledge of HSE, and risk assessment methodologies.


• Ability to review technical documentation and installation plans.


• Coordination with multidisciplinary teams.


• Proficiency in reporting and operational documentation.

Languages

• Fluent English; Italian or French is an asset.

Experience

• 3–5 years in offshore operations, construction support, or marine/equipment operations on vessels performing rigid pipelaying (S-Lay, J-Lay), cable and flexible laying, heavy lifting.


• Field experience in offshore campaigns.


• Experience interfacing with project engineering, offshore construction crews.
