Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise material inspection testing approval and quality-control activities for construction projects
- Review material submittals technical datasheets samples certificates and compliance documentation
- Verify that proposed materials comply with project specifications approved standards and authority requirements
- Coordinate with consultants contractors suppliers laboratories and project teams regarding material approvals and testing
- Prepare and review Material Submittals Material Approval Requests MARs Inspection Requests IRs and related technical documentation
- Establish and maintain material testing and inspection procedures in accordance with project requirements
- Review laboratory test reports and ensure materials meet specified acceptance criteria
- Monitor testing of concrete cement aggregates steel asphalt waterproofing materials blocks tiles finishes and other construction materials
- Conduct site inspections to verify proper storage handling installation and usage of approved materials
- Ensure material traceability from procurement through delivery testing approval and installation
- Review supplier and manufacturer documentation including certificates of conformity test certificates and product warranties
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure only approved materials are purchased and delivered to site
- Identify non-conforming materials and coordinate corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare and maintain material registers testing schedules inspection records and quality documentation
- Support the development and implementation of project Quality Assurance Quality Control procedures
- Investigate material-related quality issues and provide technical recommendations for resolution
- Monitor supplier and laboratory performance and ensure testing is carried out within required timelines
- Participate in quality meetings technical reviews and coordination meetings with consultants and contractors
- Assist in preparing quality reports material status reports and project documentation
- Support project handover by ensuring all material test certificates approvals warranties and quality records are complete and properly documented
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field. 5–8 years relevant experience in material management, preferably within fit-out or construction. Experience in factory/manufacturing environment is preferred. UAE/GCC fit-out experience required.
