Job summary

Simone's Tutoring seeks an experienced O Level / IGCSE English Tutor in the UAE to prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE/O Level, Edexcel, and OxfordAQA qualifications. You will deliver personalised lessons to strengthen reading, writing, grammar, and exam technique, using official syllabi and past papers.

The role involves one-to-one and small-group tuition, monitoring progress, and regular parent communication to support learner outcomes and progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English or related field required.
• MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain.
• Minimum 3 years' experience teaching secondary English.
• Experience preparing students for O Level, IGCSE or equivalent examinations.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' English proficiency, gaps, and target grades.
• Deliver one-to-one and small-group English tuition.
• Prepare students for Cambridge O Level, IGCSE, and equivalent qualifications.
• Teach reading, grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills.
• Develop essay writing, transactional, narrative, descriptive, and summary writing.
• Teach poetry, prose, drama and prescribed texts.
• Explain examination mark schemes and examiner expectations.
• Use official syllabi, examiner reports, and past papers.
• Conduct timed writing practice and structured feedback sessions.
• Monitor progress and communicate with parents.
