Job summary

AECOM seeks a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer - Site Supervision for Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will oversee on-site mechanical activities, ensuring adherence to design specs, safety standards, and timelines, while liaising between engineering teams, contractors and project management.

You will supervise site work, review drawings, coordinate with subcontractors and mentors on-site engineers to ensure tested, commissioned systems for handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE license or UAE-recognized equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of mechanical engineering experience; 5+ years on-site.
• Knowledge of HVAC, industrial equipment and construction standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software; UAE codes knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate mechanical activities on site per design specs.
• Conduct site inspections and technical assessments of systems.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and local building code compliance.
• Review and approve drawings and documentation for accuracy.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for timely installation.
• Maintain site records, progress reports and technical docs.
• Lead on-site teams and mentor engineers toward standards.
• Report project status and recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure systems are tested, commissioned and operable before handover.
