Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Lead Testing & Commissioning Engineer in Abu Dhabi to head on-site activities, ensuring cost-effective execution per contract specs, quality standards, schedule and safety requirements across start-up, construction, erection, commissioning and maintenance phases.

You will coordinate with clients and consultants, manage TAQA and utilities approvals, and lead testing of switchgear, protection relays and schemes. Strong leadership and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical power, electronics & communication.
• 10 years of project experience in related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, planning skills; ability to work under pressure.
• Able to communicate with people of all levels.
• Boost team morale to achieve goals.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan on-site activities with project manager and allocate resources.
• Lead hands-on testing activities on site.
• Coordinate T&C with client and consultant.
• Ensure TAQA and utilities approvals as mandatory.
• Oversee testing of switchgear, protection relays and scheme checks.
• Test busbar protection, differential and relay protections.
• Schedule ITC activities and witness schedule in line with program.
• Coordinate customer and external resources on targets, safety and site policy.
• Ensure on-site actions align with contract specs, quality, schedule and safety.
• Maintain relationships with customers, authorities and suppliers to support field activities.
• Ensure construction HSE plan is compliant with Hitachi Energy HSE policy.
• Ensure resources trained on health, safety and environment policy.
