Job Description: Offshore Structural Material Engineer

NES Fircroft Global Technical and Engineering is seeking a qualified Offshore Structural Material Engineer for a position based in the United Arab Emirates.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in offshore or oil & gas structural material engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (API, ASTM, DNV, etc.) for offshore structures.
  • Familiarity with corrosion protection, welding procedures, and NDT requirements.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate and select appropriate structural materials for offshore applications.
  2. Prepare and review material specifications, datasheets, and procurement documentation.
  3. Ensure materials comply with project standards and client requirements.
  4. Coordinate with procurement, QA/QC, and construction teams for material approvals and inspections.
  5. Support fabrication and installation by resolving material-related technical issues.
  6. Review Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and ensure traceability of structural components.
