Job summary
Bureau Veritas Abu Dhabi is seeking Painting & Coating Inspectors to join the Abu Dhabi IND team. The role requires degree or HNC in mechanical engineering and specialized NACE/CSWIP painting inspector credentials.
Expected to engage with clients, review procedures, and perform critical inspections on offshore and onshore pipelines. Applicants should have extensive experience in painting/coating inspection per ASME/API/ASTM/BS standards, and be able to verify non-conformities and ensure
Qualifications
- NACE/CSWIP or equivalent painting inspector training.
- Experience with painting/coating inspection per relevant codes.
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME/API/ASTM/BS).
Responsibilities
- Review and approve contractor painting, coating and wrapping procedures.
- Inspect surface profile and test for chloride contamination per standards.
- Monitor weather and equipment during painting/coating operations.
- Ensure materials come from approved manufacturers with valid pot life.
- Ensure coating application follows technical data sheets and approved specs.
- Verify time intervals between coats for bonding.
- Witness dry film thickness, holiday/ pinhole tests with calibrated equipment.
- Monitor surface prep, bonding agents and wrapping on risers and pipelines.
