Job summary

Wood in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Commissioning Manager for leading planning and execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and handover for major offshore upstream oil & gas projects.

The role requires extensive experience delivering large EPC/EPCI/PMC projects in the Middle East, ensuring safe, compliant, timely commissioning and start-up with strong leadership and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical, Process, or equivalent).
Master’s degree is an advantage.
Professional Engineering certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead commissioning leadership, develop philosophy and execution plans.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, operations, HSE, and quality teams for seamless execution.
Interface with client, PMC, EPC Contractors, vendors, and operations teams; run commissioning meetings.
Promote safety, lead risk assessments and HAZOP follow-up actions; ensure compliance with standards.
Drive operational readiness plans, system testing, start-up support, and performance guarantees.
