Detailed Job Description

As an Offset Printing Operator supporting advanced packaging manufacturing at Al Bayader International in Dubai, you will take full operational and technical ownership of offset press operations, plate mounting, fountain solution control, and print quality validation. Your day-to-day responsibilities include hanging printing plates, mixing spot colors and fountain solutions, adjusting ink fountain keys and register, inspecting printed paper/board sheets for defects, and performing routine press maintenance. You will utilize your proactive, hands-on technical aptitude to deliver flawless visual packaging results. Key Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and adjust multi-color sheet-fed offset printing presses for paper and paperboard packaging products.
Perform rapid job changeovers, plate hanging, packing adjustments, and precision register setup.
Mix and control offset printing inks, fountain solution conductivity/pH, and match spot colors against approved color proofs.
Monitor paper feed, dampening balance, ink coverage, drying systems, and sheet delivery during high-speed runs.
Troubleshoot offset printing defects (e.g., scumming, ghosting, slur, picking, stripping, hickies) and execute corrective actions.
Conduct routine cleaning of blanket cylinders, ink rollers, dampening systems, and impression cylinders.
Maintain meticulous production records, ink consumption logs, waste reports, and quality inspection sign-offs.
Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines, environmental standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications & Skills

Technical Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive professional experience operating sheet-fed offset printing presses in the packaging or commercial printing industry.
Strong practical hands-on expertise in multi-color offset presses (e.g., Heidelberg, Komori, Manroland) and color management systems.
In-depth knowledge of paper/board substrates, offset inks, dampening chemistry, and print defect analysis.
Keen color vision, attention to detail, and proficiency with spectrophotometers and densitometers.
Mandatory legal work eligibility in the United Arab Emirates with local residency and availability for on-site operations in Dubai.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking capabilities in fast-paced production environments.
High professional accountability, reliability, and readiness to work in rotating shifts.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Prior professional working experience in multinational folding carton packaging converting plants in the UAE or GCC region.
Experience with inline coating units and UV offset printing applications.
Familiarity with digital prepress workflows and CIP3/CIP4 ink presetting.
Basic understanding of food-grade packaging safety regulations.
