Job description

Job Summary:

The IT Governance Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. This position ensures IT operations align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices in risk management, compliance, and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting and maintaining IT policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with IT governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Help coordinate internal and external IT audits; track remediation activities and ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Support IT risk management activities, including risk assessments, mitigation tracking, and reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
  • Assist in reporting on IT performance metrics, KPIs, and service levels.
  • Maintain records of IT assets, systems, and processes for audit and governance purposes.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure policy awareness and adherence.
  • Provide administrative support for IT governance meetings, including minute-taking and tracking action items.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT governance, risk management, compliance, or audit support.
  • Knowledge of IT governance and control frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with GRC tools or platforms.
  • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, COBIT, ISO 27001, or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) are an asset.
