Job Description

Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman (SKMCA) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our Facility Management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and the ability to oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and sustainability standards.

Responsibilities

1. Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and renovation projects.
2. Conduct on-site investigations, analyse data, and assess risks, materials, and costs.
3. Manage, review, and analyse data to maintain construction and renovation projects.
4. Resolve design and development problems while ensuring compliance with legal requirements, particularly health and safety standards.
5. Assess the sustainability and environmental impact of projects.
6. Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
7. Prepare and estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, and labor to determine project feasibility.
8. Provide expertise in civil engineering, including design, supervision, and preparation of bills of quantities and specifications.
9. Guide and support junior staff in their professional development.
10. Maintain effective communication with managers, colleagues, and staff, expressing ideas clearly and effectively.
11. Contribute to practice development, participate in education and training programs, and adhere to hospital safety norms.
12. Perform additional tasks as assigned by superiors across all SKMCA hospitals.

1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction, design, and maintenance of building structures and facilities.

1. Strong spoken and written English skills (Arabic is an advantage).
2. Expertise in mechanical engineering, including design and supervision, and preparation of bills of quantities and specifications, is a plus.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
4. Attention to detail, strong data entry skills, and a pleasing personality.
5. Demonstrated ability to perform essential job functions and uphold confidentiality.
