Job Summary

Our client, a freight forwarding company, is currently seeking an Ocean Export Specialist to join the team and support day-to-day operations.

Job Scope

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

Job Description:
  1. Handling all daily ocean export shipments from booking until invoicing.
  2. Providing expert advice to clients regarding logistic processes, documentation, inspections, letters of credit, or any other shipping questions which may arise.
  3. Booking, arranging for or confirming cargo space with carriers.
  4. Arranging pick-up of cargo to port.
  5. Preparing and/or processing export declarations, including the required electronic export information.
  6. Preparing and/or processing carrier Bills of Lading, Delivery Orders, legalization of documents or other shipping documents.
  7. Issuing House Bills of Lading or equivalent documents.
  8. Preparing and/or sending advance notifications of shipments or other documents to agents, shippers or consignees as required.
  9. Coordinating the movement of shipments between origin and destination.
  10. Tracking shipments and sending regular status reports to clients.
  11. Data input/logging files.
  12. Communicating with all external and internal partners as well as customers to ensure smooth transport arrangements.
  13. Operating according to our Standard Operating Procedures.
  14. Supporting colleagues if required.
Job Requirements:
  • Problem solving and solution finding skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Professional handling of tasks to contribute to business growth.
