Job summary

Sakina is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (Special Needs) to assess and treat individuals with developmental, behavioral, cognitive, physical, and sensory challenges in Abu Dhabi. You will develop individualized intervention plans and deliver evidence-based therapy aimed at maximizing independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid DOH License as an Occupational Therapist or DOH Eligibility.
• Minimum experience as required by DOH regulations.
• Experience with individuals with special needs, developmental disorders, or rehabilitation patients is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for individuals with special needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each patient's goals and functional abilities.
• Provide therapy services for individuals with ASD, intellectual and developmental disabilities, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, learning disabilities, and neurological/physical conditions.
• Assess and improve fine motor, gross motor, sensory integration, self-care, social, and daily living skills.
• Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate families, caregivers, and support staff on strategies and home programs.
• Collaborate with other professionals (speech therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, physicians, educators).
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and therapy records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Sensory processing difficulties

• Neurological and physical conditions
• Assess and improve fine motor, gross motor, sensory integration, self-care, social, and daily living skills.
