The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage all aspects of the OCC operations for the Dubai TRAM.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic
- Monitor service delivery and manage OCC personnel and resources.
- Advise the Operations Director of problems relating to service delivery matters in a proactive and timely manner.
- Plan and deliver succession and development plans within the department.
- Develop and review procedures, instructions, and improvements that benefit the delivery of train services on Dubai TRAM.
- Lead the OCC Chief Controllers to effectively manage their teams during degraded and normal operations.
Stakeholder / Customer
- Coordinate effectively with counterparts for the client.
- Communicate and report details of incidents to the Executive Team and public relations staff if required.
Operational
- Recommend, approve, and implement actions resulting from incidents, emergencies, or safety and operational investigations.
- Conduct daily and weekly reviews of service delivery performance, prepare reports, and provide data.
- Plan and execute the best operational recovery with the least impact during incidents or accidents.
Capability / People
- Ensure all controllers and train crew are adequately trained, assessed, and certified in their functions, providing additional support and training if necessary.
- Perform and carry out other duties as instructed by the Operations Director.
- Manage all control room resources to ensure team performance meets standards and procedures.
- Deputise for the Operations Director when required.

- Understanding of tram operation controls such as supervision, regulation, incident handling, and emergency management.
- Functional understanding of OCC monitors, servers, and their operations.

Required
Education
- High diploma of post-secondary education in a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in train operation within railway, aviation, or urban traffic control settings.
- Experience in control room, train/tram operations, and management is required; knowledge of safety-critical operations will be assessed.
Ideally, candidates should have experience working in an Operation Control Center and possess people management skills. Working experience on a tram network is highly preferable.
