Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with EYFS and Citizens curriculum.
• Incorporate inquiry-based and play-based approaches to promote curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills.
• Stay up to date with best practices in early years education and implement innovative strategies.
• Use data and observations to personalize learning and track development.

Learning & Teaching:

• Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for learning.
• Encourage exploration, independence, and problem-solving through hands-on learning.
• Support literacy and numeracy through engaging activities and stories.
• Promote positive behavior and social development.

Collaboration & Community Engagement:

• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding child progress and well-being.
• Partner with colleagues and leaders to build a cohesive early years experience.
• Contribute to school-wide events, extracurricular activities, and community initiatives.
• Participate actively in ongoing professional learning and development.
• Uphold all school policies on safeguarding and child protection.
• Ensure all learners feel safe, valued, and supported in their development.
• Promote emotional, social, and physical well-being through thoughtful care and instruction.

Other Responsibilities:

• Support children during transitions from nursery to primary school.
• Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as requested by the EYFS Leader or school leadership.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or CACHE Level 3 equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an early years or nursery setting.
• Strong understanding of child development, early years pedagogy, and inclusive practices.
• Experience with curriculum planning, data tracking, and engaging families in the learning process.
