Job description

Provides direct patient care including administering medications monitoring vital signs and assisting with treatments Conducts comprehensive client assessments to collect functional environmental psycho-social and health information as appropriate to assist in an optimal discharge plan Coordinates care plans and treatment schedules with other healthcare professionals Educates patients and their families about their diagnosis treatment options and side effects and provides emotional support Maintains accurate medical records and documentation of patient care treatments and outcomes and effective communication with physicians nursing staff patients families and others related to patient diagnosis Offers support and counselling to patients and families throughout the treatment process including coping with emotional and physical challenges and Participates in patient-related meetings Advocates for patients needs within the healthcare system ensuring they receive appropriate care and resources Participates in clinical research trials and stays updated on the latest advancements in gastroenterology care Contributes to quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care and patient outcomes Overlooks symptoms and its treatments such as pain nausea and fatigue Engages in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices Participates in departmental goal setting and implementing evaluating creative approaches to meeting goals Provides the patients and relatives with a tour of the clinic Collaborates with patients families and healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes Demonstrates awareness and knowledge of Infection control and pain management and reports and documents in the Electronic Medical Records EMR Performs additional duties as requested
