Job summary

EDGE Group in the UAE seeks a Manager – Product Development Costing to own financial tracking for NRE/NPI across drone programs, ensuring capitalization per IAS 38 and budget control at every stage-gate. You will partner with Engineering, Program Management and FP&A to drive cost discipline and accurate reporting.

Lead a team of costing analysts, develop cost architectures for new manufacturing processes, and support audits of R&D costs.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of cost accounting experience in NPI/R&D finance.
• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA or equivalent) with IAS 38 knowledge.
• Deep understanding of stage-gate product development and design-to-cost.
• Hands-on SAP CO experience; familiarity with development order and WBS settlement.
• Engineering or technical degree background is strongly advantageous.
• Experience building cost architectures for complex, large-scale engineered systems.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end financial tracking of all NRE and NPI costs across drone development programs.
• Prepare robust cost business cases for each R&D stage-gate (concept, PDR, CDR, production).
• Drive design-to-cost discipline with Engineering; set cost targets at each stage-gate.
• Lead month-end settlement of development and prototype production orders in EBS/SAP CO.
• Coordinate with FP&A to feed development costs into cash flow and close processes.
• Manage IAS 38 R&D cost capitalization; maintain asset schedules and amortization profiles.
• Model cost structures for new manufacturing processes; include automation investments.
• Conduct make-vs-buy analyses to support sourcing decisions.
• Develop cost learning curves for UAV scale-up and production ramp planning.
• Lead and develop a costing analyst team and partner with Engineering leadership.
• Support audits related to R&D capitalization and government cost audits.
