Due to business growth, we are looking for a Nosology Specialist to join the Health Information Systems team in Dubai. The role is hybrid and will require onsite presence approximately once per week.

As a Nosology Specialist, your role will be crucial in ensuring that software is kept current with regulatory updates and that content is aligned by optimizing applications such as Codefinder and 360 Encompass. You will be responsible for creating, supporting, and maintaining clinical coding annotations for use within our products and will be involved with the development of lean rule coding content for the Middle East. The role also provides Nosology support, training, and troubleshooting for end-users.

As a Nosology Specialist, your role will be crucial in ensuring that software is kept current with regulatory updates and that content is aligned by optimizing applications such as Codefinder and 360 Encompass. You will be responsible for creating, supporting, and maintaining clinical coding annotations for use within our products and will be involved with the development of lean rule coding content for the Middle East. The role also provides Nosology support, training, and troubleshooting for end-users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Support: Provide day-to-day support for the development and localisation of annotations & lean rule content for the Middle East market.
  • Content Creation: Utilize tools to create annotations and lean content, analysing the clinical terminology and applying the learnings to the development of the software before testing is performed. Create new diagnosis and procedure annotation mappings using the most appropriate lead term, considering gender, minimum age, or maximum age where necessary.
  • Content Testing: Conduct thorough testing of all content creation activities and perform concept-to-code mapping.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality checks for broken pathways or pathways without synonyms, reviewing and amending negating terms based on customer feedback, internal quality checks, or classification changes.
  • User Training: Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure proficiency in using the applications and understanding best practices.
  • Nosology Documentation: Create and maintain Nosology documentation, including user manuals, Jira tracking, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals, developers, and stakeholders to understand change requirements and implement solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor application performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service by addressing user concerns promptly and effectively.
Your Skills and Expertise


To succeed in this role, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent coding certifications from CCS, CDIP, AHIMA, or AAPC.
  • Significant recent experience working with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and regulatory coding guidelines for the UAE, including DOH, DHA, and MOH.
  • Strong understanding of documentation processes in electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to follow established processes, rules, and conventions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines for relevant product releases.
  • Highly motivated, independent, and innovative.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Confidence in decision-making.
