Job summary

Kanad Hospital in Abu Dhabi seeks a Neurologist to join our clinical team and provide expert neurological care in outpatient and inpatient settings.

You will conduct outpatient clinics, assess referred patients, order and review tests, prepare care plans, admit patients when needed, and coordinate with ward nurses.

Qualifications

• Board certification or MD in Neurology required.
• Minimum 3 years' post-board experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinics are conducted.
• Assess surgical patients referred by Kanad Hospital or external physicians.
• Review medical and surgical histories and physical data for neurosurgical patients.
• Order, evaluate, and review laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform diagnostic procedures as required.
• Prepare a plan of care and admit patients as indicated.
• Schedule cases for procedures in line with hospital policies and provide therapeutic procedures.
• Refer patients to other health care providers as indicated and conduct ward rounds as applicable.
• Provide directions to ward nurses regarding admitted patient care and surgical consultations.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinics


• The surgeon provides neurosurgical care in line with his capacities credentialing and privileges


• The consultant will assess surgical patients referred by other Kanad Hospital or outside physicians


• Medical and surgical history and physical data are obtained in neurosurgical patients


• patient records are reviewed


• Orders evaluates and reviews appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures


• Performs diagnostic procedures as required


• Prepares a plan of care


• Admits patients to the ward as indicated


• Schedules cases for procedures in line with hospital policies


• Performs appropriate therapeutic procedures


• Refers patients to other or outside health care providers as indicated


• Inpatient Ward Rounds in the ward as applicable


• Provides adequate directions to ward nurses regarding admitted surgical patients care as well as regarding surgical consultations in other patients


• Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care such as administering sedatives prescribing diets and preparing operative area of patients

Requirements

• Education: Board certified or MD in Neurology as minimum


• Duration and type of Experience: Experience of 3 years after Board preferred
