Job summary

Allocation Assist in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Consultant in Neurocritical Care to deliver specialized care for critically ill neurological patients in a multidisciplinary ICU setting. The role emphasizes collaboration with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and intensivists to manage stroke, neurotrauma, and other neurocritical emergencies.

The ideal candidate holds MBBS/MD or equivalent and a specialist qualification in Neurology/Neurosurgery/Critical Care with DOH licensing eligibility.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Specialist/consultant qualification in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Critical Care, or Neurocritical Care.
• DOH license/eligibility in Abu Dhabi or eligibility to obtain one.
• Significant post-specialization experience managing critically ill neurological patients.
• Strong knowledge of advanced neuro-monitoring and critical care practices.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neurocritical care to patients with life-threatening neurological conditions.
• Manage patients with acute stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, and other neurological emergencies.
• Assess and manage critically ill patients requiring advanced neurological monitoring and intensive care.
• Participate in the management of post-neurosurgical and neurotrauma patients.
• Perform and interpret neurological assessments and relevant diagnostic investigations.
• Manage airway, ventilation, hemodynamic stability, intracranial pressure, and cerebral perfusion in critically ill neurological patients.
• Collaborate closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, emergency physicians, radiologists, and rehabilitation specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical rounds, and emergency response.
• Support evidence-based protocols for stroke, neurotrauma, intracranial hypertension, and critical neurological disorders.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching, and research activities.
