Job description

Our client, a dynamic fixed line operator in the Middle East, is searching for a Network Development Director.

This role will be responsible for the development of the fiber networks (both Greenfield and Brownfield), management of vendors / contractors to ensure their compliance with SLAs, and the smooth transition of the network from build to operate.

Responsibilities :

  1. Define the Network Development Department strategy, plan, and budget in line with the Corporate Strategy.
  2. Ensure that the network is deployed according to the network plan and design, considering implementation constraints and maintaining costs within the budget.
  3. Participate in negotiations of network-related contracts with business partners / vendors.
  4. Develop tactical and operational plans for specific geographical areas, based on the advice of the “CO areas” implementation managers.
  5. This role reports to the COO, with direct reports including the Implementation Manager and the Vendors Manager.

Minimum Requirements :

  1. Master’s degree, preferably in Telecommunications Engineering or a related field; an MBA is an advantage.
  2. Project Management Certification (e.g., PMI).
  3. Relevant telecom engineering qualifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent international certifications.
  4. At least 10 years of progressive experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role within the telecommunications industry or a related field.
  5. Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous but not essential.
