Overview

Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Network Engineering Knowledge – Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.), network architecture, and routing/switching.
• Security & Compliance – Understanding of network security best practices, firewalls, encryption, and compliance standards.
• Network Automation & Scripting – Proficiency in Python, Ansible, or PowerShell to automate network tasks and integrate SolarWinds with other platforms.
• APIs & Integrations – Ability to work with APIs for network automation. Experience using SolarWinds APIs to automate workflows or extract network insights.
• SolarWinds Administration – Expertise in configuring, maintaining, and optimizing SolarWinds tools like Network Performance Monitor (NPM), Network Configuration Manager (NCM), and Security Event Manager (SEM).
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting – Ability to set up automated alerts, dashboards, and reports in SolarWinds for proactive network monitoring.
• Performance Tuning – Experience with fine-tuning network operations through capacity planning, bandwidth analysis, and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for deploying network automation solutions.
