Job Description
Installing and configuring ship networks equipment.
Troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
Specify system requirements and design solutions.
Monitoring ship networks and systems to identify how performance can be improved.
Ensure network security and connectivity.
Implement and manage smart IT solutions.
Work closely with Field Engineers and Sr. Field Engineers and follow their instructions.
Familiarize with working with basic applications like MS Office, Visio, drawing applications, etc.
Prepare and interpret engineering reports, drawings, layouts, and other (visual) aids.
Ability to adopt any other relevant duties required and added by the company from time to time.
Must be able to support customers with their queries over the call, emails, and other means of communication (like WhatsApp, etc.).
To do site inspection prior to new installation or relocation of existing systems.
To install and configure the fixed antenna and auto-tracking VSAT systems at customer’s site.
To troubleshoot failure of VSAT link and conduct scheduled preventive maintenance as per customer’s contract.
To monitor link performance onboard during rig, move, and relocate VSAT system, if necessary.
To prepare and test equipment prior to installation.
To prepare chronological report, service report, and equipment listing after completion of each job.
Familiar with routers, multiplexers, modems, RFT, and other related telecommunication equipment.
