Job summary

Globant is seeking a .NET Senior Engineer - AI Coder to lead backend development for AI-driven digital experiences. You will own the design and operation of .NET services and BFF layers supporting booking, payments and loyalty, while steering AI-assisted delivery and code reviews across the team.

You will mentor 1–2 backend engineers, shape integration patterns with third-party services, and drive RCA-driven fixes for production incidents, leveraging Azure, Redis, and modern CI/CD tooling.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building backend services in C# / .NET, including 2+ years owning a production system, while still writing production code daily.

Responsibilities

• Backend design, build and run of .NET services and BFF behind booking, payments and loyalty.
• Manage integration contracts, including failure handling, idempotency and retry behaviour on transactions.
• Use agentic coding tools as default; set team rules; keep context artifacts current for all backend work.
• Review backend PRs (human and AI); support 1-2 engineers; act as technical counterpart to TD, product and QA.
• Participate in RCA on production failures and turn findings into fixes, logging and guardrails.

Core Responsibilities

Backend engineering and ownership

• Own design, build and run of the .NET services and BFF behind different core services related to booking, payments and loyalty.
• Hold the integration contracts, including failure handling, idempotency and retry behaviour on transactions.

AI-assisted delivery

• Use agentic coding tools as the default working mode for implementation, refactoring, test generation and codebase exploration.
• Set the team's rules for AI-assisted work: what tools are used for, what they are not used for, and what must be human-verified before merge.
• Keep context artifacts current (repo conventions, agent instructions, prompts and scripts) so the whole backend team gets the same lift, not just you.

Hands-on leadership and code review

• Review backend PRs, human- and AI-authored, with particular attention to hallucinated APIs, deprecated calls, silent complexity on hot paths and tests that assert nothing.
• Support 1-2 other backend engineers by building and reviewing alongside them, and act as the technical counterpart to the Technical Director, product and QA.
• Take part in RCA on production failures and turn findings into fixes, logging and guardrails.

Experience & Skills

Must have

• 7+ years building backend services in C# / .NET, including 2+ years owning a production system, and still writing production code daily.
• Demonstrable daily use of agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot or equivalent) on production code, with concrete examples of what changed in their delivery: scope, cycle time, test coverage, refactors they would not otherwise have attempted.
• Strong code review practice, including a clear personal method for catching AI-generated defects.
• Experience integrating third-party transactional APIs (payments, PSPs, booking or ticketing engines) where partial failure has commercial consequences.
• Worked in fast-paced delivery with short cycles, feature flags and frequent releases.

Strongly Preferred

• Set or documented AI-assisted development standards for a team (review policy, agent instructions, prompt or context libraries).
• High-volume transactional or booking platforms; multi-market or multi-currency systems.
• Azure, distributed tracing and production debugging with New Relic or similar.
• Comfortable working across a React and Flutter client surface, and with CMS-driven content.
