Role Overview:
Orbit International Survey Services LLC is looking for a skilled NDT - QC Inspector with expertise in Radiographic Testing and films interpretation within the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate should have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in oil and gas infrastructure projects, along with a strong understanding of radiographic inspection methods, relevant codes, and common welding defects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate interpretation and evaluation of radiographic images (film-based and digital) to detect discontinuities in welds and base materials.
  • Review radiographic testing results in accordance with industry codes and client specifications (ASME, AWS, API 1104, ISO, ASTM, DNV, etc.).
  • Utilize manual film interpretation and automated/digital tools for inspection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Analyze defects such as porosity, slag inclusions, lack of fusion, lack of penetration, undercuts, and cracks.
  • Verify and document inspection results and maintain traceability through proper records, weld maps, and drawings.
  • Collaborate with welding inspectors, NDT personnel, and engineers to verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards during inspection activities.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure proper use of radiographic equipment and safety protocols.
  • Support the preparation of inspection reports and maintain accurate records of test results.
  • Participate in quality audits and project documentation reviews.




Requirements



Experience:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in RT interpretation in oil & gas, pipeline construction, pressure vessels, or fabrication yards.
  • Familiar with digital radiography (DR), computed radiography (CR), and film radiography (RT-Film).
Certifications:
  • ASNT Level II or Level III in Radiographic Testing (RT)
  • (or equivalent: PCN, CSWIP, ISO 9712, SAQCC)
  • NDT multi-discipline certifications (UT, MT, PT, VT) are preferred and considered an asset.
Technical Skills:
  • Solid understanding of radiographic setup parameters and techniques (e.g., single/double wall exposure, panoramic shooting).
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, isometric diagrams, and weld maps.
  • Knowledgeable in welding processes, techniques, and defect types.
Education:
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Other Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and report-writing ability.
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality.
