Job summary

FIVE Hotels & Resorts in the UAE is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to uphold luxury standards across guest rooms and facilities. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinate with departments, and resolve issues swiftly to ensure seamless hotel operations.

The ideal candidate brings 1–2 years of UAE hotel/healthcare maintenance experience, strong problem solving, and a meticulous eye for detail.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role within a Luxury Hotel or Healthcare environment in the UAE.
• Strong hands-on knowledge and experience in general maintenance and multi-skilled engineering works.
• Strong ability to work autonomously, taking proactive initiative to resolve issues with efficiency and effectiveness.
• A Proactive Nature, coupled with a meticulous Eye for Detail, ensuring every aspect of the Operation is curated to perfection.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas and other hotel facilities, ensuring exceptional standards are consistently maintained.
• Demonstrates strong hands-on expertise in general maintenance works, responding efficiently to operational requirements.

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns, completing assigned tasks within designated timelines.
• Troubleshoot and rectify technical faults efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations and guest experiences.
• Carry out minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, tiling, painting and other general maintenance works as required.
• Work collaboratively with hotel departments to ensure smooth operations and contribute to guest satisfaction.

• Ensures that all maintenance works are carried out to the Highest Standards of quality, safety and precision, embodying the Luxe and Glamorous ethos of FIVE.
• Utilises tools, equipment and materials appropriately and ensures that all equipment remains in good working condition.
• Adheres to all Safe Work practices and procedures Meticulously, ensuring a secure working environment that prioritises the Well-Being of all.
• Completes all tasks assigned by the Duty Engineer, efficiently and effectively within designated timelines, contributing with Dedication and Passion.
• Reports recurring technical issues, defects or maintenance concerns to the Engineering Team and supports the implementation of appropriate solutions.
• Maintains meticulous Attention to Detail, ensuring all maintenance works meet the Breathtaking standards expected at FIVE.
• Works collaboratively with Team Members and other Hotel Departments to ensure smooth and uninterrupted Hotel Operations.
• Actively participates in monthly Departmental Meetings, providing Valuable feedback and offering Insightful suggestions for continuous improvement as a valued member of our FIVE Tribe.
• Takes Ownership of all assigned duties and demonstrates a proactive approach to maintaining the Hotel’s facilities and engineering standards.
• A hands-on attitude, fuelled by a ‘Can-Do!’ Spirit.
