To perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and overhaul activities on MTU engine systems in accordance with manufacturer standards and company procedures. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient, and reliable service that maximizes equipment performance, ensures customer satisfaction, and contributes to the long‑term reliability and value of customer assets while promoting the Al Masaood and MTU brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with MTU manufacturer's recommendations and maintenance schedules.
• Conduct visual inspections, adjustments, fluid changes, lubrication activities, and replacement of wear-and-tear components such as filters, gaskets, belts, and seals.
• Diagnose equipment abnormalities, identify excessive wear or potential failures, and recommend corrective actions or additional work requirements.
• Carry out engine repairs, component replacements, and overhaul activities in accordance with approved procedures.
• Reset maintenance systems and service counters using approved diagnostic tools.
• Perform cleaning, preservation, and care of customer equipment following maintenance or repair activities.
• Execute routine service repairs independently and support major repair and overhaul projects under the guidance of senior technicians when required.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, assembly, and replacement of engine systems and major components.

Technical Support & Reporting

• Utilize diagnostic software and manufacturer-approved tools such as Vodia, DiaSys, and related systems for troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
• Read and interpret fault codes, maintenance data, and onboard diagnostic information.
• Prepare accurate repair reports, failure analysis reports, technical service documentation, and maintenance records in a timely manner.
• Identify required spare parts and prepare detailed parts lists for maintenance and repair activities.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and support warranty and service documentation requirements.

Quality, Safety & Operational Excellence

• Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with MTU manufacturer standards and company quality requirements.
• Contribute to operational risk reduction by following established procedures and quality control measures.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition and immediately report any defects.
• Ensure excellent housekeeping standards and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all company HSE policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Customer Service & Teamwork

• Represent Al Masaood professionally while interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach and provide timely support to meet service commitments.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and technical specialists to achieve service objectives.
• Contribute positively to team performance and share technical knowledge when required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Essential); Mechatronics qualification preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in diesel engine maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair activities, preferably on MTU engines or similar high-speed diesel engines.
• Sound knowledge of engine systems, assemblies, and components, including Common Rail, PLD, fuel, lubrication, cooling, and electronic control systems.
• Ability to independently perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, adjustments, and assembly work in accordance with manufacturer procedures.
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic and service tools such as Vodia, DiaSys, and other manufacturer-approved systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, maintenance schedules, fault codes, and workshop documentation.
• Experience in identifying faults, conducting root cause analysis, and recommending corrective actions.
• Good understanding of workshop information systems, maintenance processes, and service reporting requirements.
• Strong customer-service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrates teamwork, accountability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking); Arabic is an advantage.
