Modernization Technician - Elevators & Escalators

KONE Middle East & Africa (KMEA) is embarking on an exciting growth phase, establishing a direct presence in 10 countries with a regional head office in Dubai and over 60 distributor markets in the region.

We are seeking a modernization technician with a service mindset to provide professional service to our customers in Dubai, UAE. In this role, you will be a key part of KONE's operations—an everyday hero making people's lives easier. Your responsibilities include ensuring quality service, enhancing equipment safety and performance, and maintaining proactive on-site communication with customers and equipment users. The technician will install mechanical and electrical components, troubleshoot issues, and attend call-outs.

Responsibilities

1. Customer Relationship Management
2. Manage the installation environment during modernization activities and communicate daily with customers regarding installation and logistics.
3. Ensure customer satisfaction through quality service and clear, proactive on-site communication.
4. Provide accurate and real-time reports of work performed at the equipment level.
5. Equipment Safety and Performance
6. Identify site risks and communicate them to the supervisor.
7. Take immediate on-site action in high-risk situations following escalation procedures.
8. Identify additional modernization needs based on equipment assessment.
9. Modernization Operations
10. Prioritize safety for end-users and site personnel.
11. Maintain a safe working environment, including storage areas.
12. Complete modernization tasks according to KONE standards, respecting schedules, quality, and processes.
13. Ensure precise and timely reporting of work and submit timesheets accurately.
14. Update the supervisor on site progress and order replacement parts as needed.
15. Maintain installation tools, vehicles, and instruments in good condition and safety.
16. Handle and store delivered equipment properly.
17. Install and replace mechanical and electrical components as required.
18. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment performance and safety issues.

Requirements

• ITI/Vocational Certificate, Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Automation or equivalent.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Basic IT and digital skills are preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of preventive maintenance experience with a reputable elevator company.
• Experience in installing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical components.
