Modern Trade Strategy Specialist

We are looking for a strategic and analytical Modern Trade Strategy Specialist to drive growth within the UAE's modern trade channel. This role will focus on crafting channel strategies, optimizing key account performance, and enhancing in-store execution across major retailers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute modern trade channel strategies aligned with company growth objectives
2. Analyze category and channel performance to identify opportunities for expansion and optimization
3. Collaborate with key account managers to drive sell-in/sell-out and promotional effectiveness
4. Plan and track trade marketing budgets, ROI, and shopper engagement initiatives
5. Conduct in-depth market research on competitors, pricing, planograms, and retail dynamics
6. Build long-term partnerships with modern trade customers through strategic collaboration
7. Ensure compliance with brand visibility, merchandising, and planogram standards in-store
8. Coordinate with supply chain and demand planning teams to align forecasts with channel needs
9. Monitor and report on channel KPIs, market share, and sales growth across UAE retailers
10. Recommend tailored commercial and promotional plans for high-impact accounts

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA is a plus
2. 4-6 years of experience in trade marketing, key account strategy, or modern trade channel management
3. Strong knowledge of the UAE/GCC modern trade landscape (e.g., Carrefour, Lulu, Union Coop)
4. Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and forecasting skills
5. Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication abilities
6. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data tools (Nielsen, IRI, or POS analytics)
7. Fluent in English; Arabic is an added advantage
8. Strong understanding of in-store execution standards and shopper behavior in modern retail
9. UAE driving license and willingness to travel for market visits and audits
