Job description

Linum Consult’s client is a leading distributor of heavy machinery and equipment, catering to construction, road construction and mining in the Horn of Africa region. In response to sustained expansion, they are seeking to recruit an After Sales Manager experienced in mining equipment aftersales operations. The role will be based in Dubai, involving substantial travel throughout Ethiopia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and implementing aftersales strategies that are aligned with the company’s mining division goals
  • Overseeing service delivery, warranty administration, and parts availability for Komatsu equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with Komatsu standards and the company’s operational policies
  • Monitoring KPIs for service delivery, parts turnover, and warranty claims to ensure operational efficiency
  • Serving as the primary contact for customers regarding aftersales services
  • Fostering long-term relationships with key mining clients, understanding their specific operational needs
  • Establishing and managing relationships with authorised Komatsu service centres and dealerships
  • Providing training and support to clients on Komatsu’s service processes, warranty claims, and spare parts handling
  • Managing a team of 10, ensuring they are well-versed in Komatsu’s digital tools and systems, such as KOMTRAX and KOMVision

CLIENT REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering, or similar technical subject, ideally with a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)
  • 15-20 years’ experience in aftersales operations in the mining or heavy equipment industry
  • Must have first-hand knowledge of Komatsu products and aftersales systems (e.g. KOMTRAX, KOMQuip)
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Proficient in commercial laws, warranty processes, and Incoterms
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout Africa
  • Fluent in English, and any additional languages such as French, Arabic & Amharic would be beneficial
