Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end middle office processes for new banking products, including SOPs and SLAs
- Identify operational inefficiencies and lead transformation initiatives to automate workflows, reduce risk, and improve turnaround times
- Drive departmental change by coordinating system enhancements, migrations, and UAT with IT and head office teams
- Partner with treasury on deposit pricing, FTP management, and approval of client pricing aligned with liquidity and risk considerations
- Govern instruction processing for interbank placements and settlements, ensuring robust maker-checker controls for SWIFT messaging
- Oversee institutional client onboarding, KYC and AML processes, including complex structures and regulatory questionnaires
- Monitor financial institution credit limits, counterparty exposure, and collateral requirements
- Track trade and settlement lifecycles, identify exceptions, and implement early risk indicators
- Ensure custody operations and agreements comply with local and head office regulatory frameworks
- Act as the primary liaison with head office on operational and regulatory matters
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and submissions to supervisory authorities
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Law, or Business Administration
- Minimum of five years of experience in banking middle office, operations, or product control within a global financial institution
- Proven experience in business setup or operational restructuring with measurable process or team build-out outcomes
- Strong understanding of SWIFT standards, banking regulations, and AML and CFT requirements
- High learning agility with the ability to quickly grasp new systems, products, and regulations
- Strong leadership and coordination skills in a cross-functional and matrix environment
