The Role

We are seeking mid-senior level corporate lawyers with M&A and ECM experience to join our award-winning team in the Middle East.

Our offices in the UAE offer a full service, fully integrated with our global network. We advise clients on major transactions in the Middle East and beyond, including public and private corporations, investment banks, financial institutions, governments, and international bodies. Our lawyers specialize in providing seamless, integrated services.

We have the market-leading M&A and ECM practice in the Middle East, offering our lawyers the opportunity to develop their careers through advising on the region's most prominent M&A and ECM transactions.

Our practice is recognized for its excellence in major M&A deals across the region, representing clients from sectors such as food and beverages, aviation, and financial services. We have played key roles in recent major regional bank mergers and acquisitions and have extensive experience working with international financial institutions, major corporations, and sovereign wealth funds. Our interdisciplinary approach and cross-border expertise are highly regarded, as noted by Chambers Global 2021 and 2017.

The Group

With over 40 years of presence in the Middle East, we have deep understanding of the local and regional legal and business environment, supported by extensive involvement in headline transactions. Our regional, European, and international experience covers mergers, acquisitions, disposals (public and private), joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and ECM activities.

Key Attractions

  • Clifford Chance is ranked as the number 1 law firm in the Chambers Global Top 30, with more Tier 1 rankings than any other firm worldwide.
  • We are recognized as leaders in M&A and ECM practices in the region, working on complex and innovative deals that cement our market leadership.
  • Our deal flow is diverse, high-profile, and international, including recent transactions such as:
  • Advising Lulu Retail Holdings Plc on its US$1.72 billion IPO and listing on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX).
  • Assisting M42, a healthcare company in Abu Dhabi, with its acquisition of Diaverum AB, making it the largest healthcare group in the Middle East.
  • Representing Investcorp Capital plc in its US$451 million IPO on the ADX, with a market capitalization of approximately AED5.04 billion (US$1.37 billion).
  • Advising on the US$1.41 billion acquisition of Egyptian Fertilizers Company by Abraaj Capital.
  • Supporting National Bonds and Emirates Islamic Bank in the sale of shares in Taaleem Holdings PJSC.
  • Guiding Americana Restaurants PLC through its US$1.8 billion IPO and listing on UAE and KSA stock exchanges.
  • Advising Dubai International Capital on its US$296 million disposal of a stake in KEF Holdings Limited.
  • Supporting Mashreqbank in its US$385 million NEOPAY sale, and MBC Group in its US$222 million IPO on the Saudi Stock Exchange.
  • Assisting with DEWA’s landmark IPO on the Dubai Financial Market, the largest in Dubai and first in the utilities sector.

We emphasize a collaborative approach, with lawyers engaging directly with clients from day one, fostering a friendly, supportive, meritocratic, and diverse environment. Our global training programs, including local courses via The Academy, ensure continuous professional development. Our remuneration packages are among the most attractive in the market.

Key Responsibilities
