Job description

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Steel Structure Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating steel components used in structural frameworks, including beams, columns, trusses, and other elements, based on detailed engineering drawings. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, structural integrity, and quality workmanship for construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications
• Measure, mark, cut, bend, and shape steel materials using hand tools and machinery (e.g., saws, shears, presses)
• Assemble steel components using tack welding, bolting, or clamping
• Perform quality checks on fabricated items to ensure dimensional accuracy and alignment
• Prepare materials for welding by grinding, drilling, and beveling edges
• Collaborate with welders and fitters to complete structural assemblies
• Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition
• Follow safety guidelines and ensure a clean, organized work environment
• Support loading and unloading of steel materials and finished products
• Maintain accurate records of fabrication processes and work orders

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred
• Proven experience as a structural steel fabricator or similar role
• Proficient in the use of fabrication tools and equipment (grinders, plasma cutters, press brakes, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols
• Good understanding of steel grades, tolerances, and fabrication standards
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods
• Basic welding and fitting skills are a plus
• Forklift or crane operation certification is an advantage

Working Conditions:

• Primarily workshop-based; occasional work on construction sites
• Exposure to noise, dust, metal fumes, and sharp objects
