Job summary

The Ohio State University Libraries seek a metadata assistant to create, transform, and edit non-MARC metadata for the digital collections. The role uses Microsoft Excel and OpenRefine to locate, create, and refine metadata, and involves editing and publishing records in the DC repository.

Candidates are enrolled in a Masters program in Library and Information Science or related fields, with strong attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to learn new technologies and work

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Masters degree with a focus on Library and Information Science, Art History, History, English, or Humanities
• Experience using Microsoft Excel
• Ability to perform detailed, repetitive work with high accuracy
• Comfortable learning new technologies and working independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
