An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of all three trades and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of essential building systems, adhering to safety standards and client specifications. This position demands hands-on technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components
Install new systems and equipment following design plans and safety regulations
Conduct inspections to identify wear and tear or potential issues
Respond promptly to maintenance requests or emergency breakdowns
Monitor and maintain proper system operations through scheduled checks
Keep accurate records of repairs, replacements, and servicing
Collaborate with engineers and contractors during construction or renovation projects
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Use tools, instruments, and equipment safely and appropriately
Requirements:
Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing fields
Proven experience as an MEP Technician or in a similar maintenance role
Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, wiring, and plumbing
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with safety protocols and building codes
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Good physical condition and manual dexterity
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or nights if needed
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
