Job Description
- Conduct thorough inspections of MEP installations to ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant codes.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, non-conformities, and corrective actions for all MEP systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to address quality concerns and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals to verify compliance with project requirements before construction begins.
- Monitor and assess the performance of subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality standards and contract specifications.
- Conduct regular site visits to oversee installation processes and ensure alignment with quality assurance protocols.
- Assist in developing and updating quality control procedures and checklists specific to MEP systems.
- Coordinate with testing and commissioning teams to ensure all systems are functioning as intended and meet quality benchmarks.
- Identify training needs and provide guidance to staff on quality control best practices in MEP installations.
- Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations to ensure continuous compliance and improvement in quality control practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in MEP quality control and inspection in construction projects, ideally in commercial or industrial sectors.
- Certifications such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent are highly desirable for demonstrating expertise.
- Experience with international standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM) related to MEP systems is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages is a plus to enhance communication with diverse teams.
- Strong technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to effectively evaluate installations.
- Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in MEP installations swiftly.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in all inspections.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaborative relationships with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Physical ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders and inspecting elevated installations safely.
