SAM Building Contracting (L.L.C) in Dubai seeks an experienced MEP Estimator to lead cost planning for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection. You will prepare detailed estimates from drawings, coordinate with design and project teams, and drive competitive bids with suppliers.

Responsibilities include maintaining breakdowns, compiling bid packages, and presenting cost analyses to management, while pursuing continuous improvements in estimating methods and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field (preferred).
• 6–8 years of experience as an estimator for MEP systems in construction.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection.
• Proficient in estimating software and tools (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent).
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; able to work independently or in a team.

Cost Estimation

Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems based on project specifications drawings and scope of work Analyze and evaluate plans specifications and addenda for all MEP components

Project Coordination

Collaborate with design engineering and project management teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess the scope of work and address any concerns

Supplier and Subcontractor Management

Identify and solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers for MEP components Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to ensure competitive and accurate cost proposals

Documentation

Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates including breakdowns of labor materials overhead and profit margins Prepare and submit detailed bid packages for review by project stakeholders

Analysis and Reporting

Conduct value engineering analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities Provide detailed reports and presentations on estimated costs and project viability to management

Continuous Improvement

Stay updated on industry trends technologies and best practices related to MEP systems and estimating Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
• Proven experience as an estimator for MEP systems in the construction industry 6 to 8 years
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection
• Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g. Bluebeam, Plan swift, or equivalent)
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst - CCEA) are a plus
