Job summary

Belhasa Projects LLC is seeking an experienced MEP Design Engineer in Dubai to oversee pre-construction design, site management, and commissioning. You will analyze architecture drawings, size water and electrical systems, and prepare technical submittals for approvals.

The role demands 5–8 years of hands-on MEP experience, strong AutoCAD and Revit skills, and a track record in commercial/industrial projects. ON-SITE in Dubai with client liaison and post-construction support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional certifications such as LEED AP or PMP are highly desirable.
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in MEP design and project management.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and other MEP tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze design drawings to ensure the feasibility and integration of MEP systems.
• Size pumps, pipes, and electrical components based on hydraulic and electrical load calculations.
• Prepare or oversee the creation of detailed MEP shop drawings for site installation.
• Supervise on-site installation and ensure compliance with DEWA/DM standards.
• Lead testing, commissioning and handover with client documentation.
• Provide post-construction maintenance guidance and support.

Job description

Pre-Construction Design Phase

Analyze design drawings from architects and designers to ensure the feasibility and proper integration of all MEP systems Perform necessary calculations for Hydraulic calculations to correctly size pumps filters and piping for optimal water turnover and flow rates in pools and water features Electrical load calculations for lighting pumps and other equipment sizing of transformers and cables Water demand calculations for irrigation systems and water features Select and prepare technical submittals for all MEP equipment pumps filters heaters chillers lights irrigation controllers etc for consultant and client approval Prepare or oversee the creation of detailed MEP shop drawings for site installation ensuring coordination with civil and structural elements

Project Execution Site Management Phase

Supervise and manage the on-site installation of all MEP systems ensuring work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications Ensure all electrical and plumbing installations strictly adhere to the standards and regulations of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority DEWA and Dubai Municipality DM Conduct regular inspections of workmanship and materials to maintain high-quality standards Liaise and coordinate with the civil construction team project managers and subcontractors to ensure smooth project progress and resolve any technical clashes Act as the primary technical problem-solver for any MEP-related issues that arise during construction

Testing Commissioning and Handover Phase

Lead the testing and commissioning process for all installed systems including pressure testing of pipelines electrical circuit testing and equipment functionality checks Calibrate and commission all equipment to ensure it operates at peak efficiency This includes balancing water flow setting up filtration cycles and programming lighting and irrigation controllers Prepare comprehensive handover documents including As-Built drawings Operation Maintenance O M manuals and equipment warranties for the client Provide training to the client or their maintenance staff on the proper operation of the installed systems

Post-Construction Maintenance Support

Serve as the technical expert for the company s maintenance division providing guidance on complex troubleshooting and repairs Occasionally audit existing installations to recommend upgrades or efficiency improvements Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. Professional certifications such as LEED AP, PMP, or equivalent is highly desirable Minimum 5 - 8 years of hands-on experience in MEP design and project management, preferably in commercial or industrial sectors Experience in using design software like AutoCAD, Revit, and other MEP-related tools is essential.
