Job description

Listen to the recorded dictation of a doctor or other healthcare professional. Transcribe and interpret the dictation into diagnostic test results, operative reports, referral letters, and other documents.

Responsibilities:

• 3.1 Interpret and transcribe a variety of medical reports and correspondence regarding patients’ assessment, work-up, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnoses, prognosis, etc. in order to document and facilitate delivery of healthcare.
• 3.2 Operate and utilize designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed to complete assignments.
• 3.3 Meet the required efficiency set by the doctors/department.
• 3.4 Provide quality transcription by the use of proper resources and proofreading of own work.
• 3.5 Ensure the confidentiality of the contents of the reports transcribed.
• 3.6 Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style.
• 3.7 Work under pressure with time constraints.
• 3.8 Follow department’s/doctors’ formats in doing reports.
• 3.9 Understand diverse accents and varying dictation styles.
• 3.10 Good eye, hand and auditory coordination.
• 3.11 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements
• 3.12 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
• 3.13 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
• 3.14 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports
• 3.15 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
• 3.16 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
• 3.17 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems

Qualifications:

• 4.1 High School Level or its equivalent
• 4.2 Qualification: Graduate
• 4.3 Experience: At least 2 years as Medical Transcriptionist.
• 4.4 Skill set: Ability to transcribe medical/audio files with 100% quality.
• 4.5 Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic desirable but not mandatory.
