Job Description
A Medical Representative is a crucial link between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and selling your company's products, which include medicines, prescription drugs, and medical equipment, to a healthcare community primarily consisting of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. The job requires a deep understanding of medical products and the ability to communicate information about them effectively to a variety of clients. You will strive to meet the sales targets while ensuring that your company's products are represented in a favorable light in the medical community. Your ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with healthcare professionals and stay updated with new product developments will be key to your success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with healthcare professionals.
- Identify and target potential clients for current and upcoming product lines.
- Organize presentations and promotional events for doctors and pharmacists.
- Provide detailed and accurate reports on product and competitor performance.
- Meet and exceed sales targets set by management through effective strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with new medical products, market conditions, and sales competition.
- Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and consumer needs.
- Keep accurate records of all sales activities and follow-up actions.
- Arrange appointments with doctors, pharmacists, and healthcare teams.
- Keep informed about the latest clinical data supplied by the company.
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing with healthcare providers.
- Provide after-sales service and answer queries professionally and effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in sales, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of scientific and medical concepts and products.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to persuade.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently under pressure.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales-related technologies.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently for client meetings.
